A term paper reference page is an obligatory part of your projects. Not only is it an official requirement, but it is also a part, which plays an extremely important role. Why? It is because term paper references are the main evidences of your original work.
Besides, term paper references are also important for the reader who may wish to find and use the same sources. This is why everything should be organized accurately and according to standard rules of making term paper references.
In this article, we will provide general guidelines on how a term paper reference list should be arranged. Yet, it should be mentioned that all specific details are given in MLA and APA style manuals.
- Term paper references should be given at the end of your paper, on a separate page. Mind that this list should include all sources you have cited in the text, and vice versa, all entries in your term paper reference list should be indicted in the text.
- As we have already said, you have to start your term paper reference list on a new page. In the center of the page, put “References” or “Works Cited”.
- Term paper references should be organized in alphabetic order by the author’s last name. Use double-spacing.
- If your term paper references include a journal title, all major words in the title should be capitalized.
- Do not use italics, quotation marks, or underlining in the titles of short works, e.g. journal articles.
- Titles of longer works, for instance books, should be put in italics.
We want to stress once again that these are just basic guidelines. Here, you can find more details about an MLA term paper and a term paper in APA style.
